Coon Rapids, Minnesota is home to an abundance of recreational opportunities. The city boasts 850 acres of city parks, 2 regional county parks, Bunker Hills Golf Club, and an ice arena.

Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park: A unique park situated in Coon Rapids. The Mississippi River defines the boundaries of the 446 acre park. Within the park is the Coon Rapids dam, which spans the river between Brooklyn Park and Coon Rapids. Visitors have access to a 12 foot wide observation walkway on the top of the dam as well as a fishing pier and observation deck below the dam. Locals take advantage of over 2 miles of trail along the beautiful river as well as in the quiet of nature. There is an abundance of wildlife, including mink, hawks, beaver, osprey, deer, turtles, and river otters. In the winter months, popular activities include snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Bunker Hills Regional Park: A 1,600 acre park with an abundance of recreational options. One of the most popular activities within the park is Bunker Beach Water Park. Some of the most popular attractions within the park are the wave pool, six water slides, the lazy loop, a zero depth entry pool, little kid area, a sandbox, volleyball court, concession stand, and much more. Within Bunker Hills Regional Park other attractions include the Anoka County Veteran’s Memorial and meeting and banquet facilities at Bunker Hills Activities Center.

Bunker Hills Golf Club: Situated next to Bunker Hills Regional Park. Established in 1968, Bunker Hills a premier golf destination. The course is characterized by large greens, tree-line fairways, and the character of 75 bunkers. The 37,000 square foot clubhouse was opened in 2011 and is equipped with a fully-stocked golf shop, Seasonal Golf Simulator Center with four state-of-the-art golf simulators, PGA / MGA hall of fame, Family Bar and Grill as well as a 410 person banquet center.

Coon Rapids Ice Center: Built in 2011, is a state-of-the art facility with skating, events, and much more. The facility is home to indoor rinks, an outdoor refrigerated rink, meeting rooms, training rooms, and party rooms. Coon Rapids Ice Center offers hockey, figuring skating, skating instructions, public skating, and the facility also hosting birthday parties, meetings, many other events. The ice center is great amenity used by the City of Coon Rapids.
